My Version of an FHE Board

So here goes...I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a cool FHE board or plaque or something, but I finally just grabbed a bunch of stuff around my house and made my own. I've had a big magnetic board for a few years now that I bought at the craft store and I'm pulling it out yet again for another go around...Magnetic boards are my fav! They are as uncommitted as my changing mind! (:

1. I bought some little round frames from the craft store (4 for $5), they have little magnets on the back, but if you find ones without, just hot glue little magnets to the back.

2. Next, I printed names on some cute paper that I had in my own stash, and cut them into small squares.

3. I applied a dab of hot glue on either side of the little frame and glued the card stock to the frame, then cut around the frame to make sure the cut was an exact fit.

4. So now that I have these cute little framed words, I want to put them on my big magnet board with some kind of decorative "FHE" wording. I chose an old dollar store metal tray, gave it a good revamping, and voila!!

5. So for the finishing touch, embellished the tray with the words "Family Night", and a few pieces of extra card stock, fabric rosettes and a button!

And there you have it! I just put a few double sided magnet discs behind the tin to hold it on the big magnet board and done! This works well for rearranging, incase I want to add or change anything later on!

I hope you enjoy! -Bekah

Too Much time on my hands: Reclaimed Wooden Pallet Dresser

Too Much time on my hands: Reclaimed Wooden Pallet Dresser: I still had 6 wooden pallets in my garage from a neighbors sod delivery. They were super happy to get rid of the pallets so easily, but my h...

Project Dance Academy

My sister owns a local Dance studio and I wanted to make her something that she would like for the somewhat naked walls within. Perhaps you've heard of it, it's called Dayley Dance Academy. A beautiful studio off of Main Street in downtown Washougal WA. Call for all your Dance, Yoga, Zumba needs! Yo, Plug Sista!!!

Projects....FINALLY!

Everyone that lives in my home beside myself and my kids are gone for the weekend. Ever since this summer started, there have been house guests staying here. As soon as everyone left two days ago, I decided to do a couple projects.
I made a canvas into a reusable calendar with card stock squares and lamination paper several years ago when I taught preschool. I looked online for Chore chart ideas and got the idea to use clothes pins and tags from this blog called Brown Paper Packages Super Cute!

I suck at Blogging

No really, TOTALLY suck! I need to document more things. So to give this whole blog thing another go, I'm gonna start with todays events...well actually it started last week when I was in Palm Desert visiting my mom. I got a call from my husband, who stayed home with the kids, asking me for my 2 year old Calvin's insurance information...yea. So apparently, my 5 year old Vinny gave Calvin a good blow to the face with a light saber and knocked his tooth in to 4 pieces.

So we took little snaggle tooth in to see the dentist today, and had it removed. Poor guy won't have a tooth there for like 4 or 5 years! ):

He was so loopy from the drugs. Let's just say he was a roller coaster of emotions. I love you Cal!

So I took a plunge today!

I've been talking, thinking, daydreaming, and every other kind of ing about getting an ETSY shop. I keep thinking that it would be too much pressure to get orders done, too much commitment, and am I even good enough that people will want to buy my stuff...doubts.

I decided today that I was just gonna go for it! I've been joking back and forth with a friend about racing to ETSY. One girl said to me once that if I didn't open an ETSY shop, she "will kill me right now!" That has always made me laugh, but today that thought gave me that little push to just see what happens. So Thanks Kristi and Amelia and everyone else in my life who gave me little reasons to go through with it.

Trust me, The games not over yet. Academy award isn't ready to be handed out, just sayen'.
I just opened the friggin thin this morning, so who knows how its gonna go?! But I did it, and it feels pretty awesome! http://www.etsy.com/people/MadGabby?ref=pr_profile
